Welcome!

I'm a queer Brooklyn based performance artist with a BFA in Theater Arts with a concentration in performance and a minor in Sociology from Hofstra University. I never could have imagined being where I am ten years ago. Growing up I always had a passion for art, but I was always leaning into different artistic mediums. I had dreams of becoming a visual artist, a fashion designer, an architect, and a culinary artist, but it wasn’t until high school until I found a calling to the performing arts. I couldn’t be more grateful now to be where I am today.

My first production at Hofstra was a student-written children’s show called Sparky’s Glasses written by Julie Smith where I played a news reporter and a stray dog. Next I played a soldier in Shakespeare’s Troilus and Cressida (2020) which closed the same day Hofstra went virtual and sent its students home. During the pandemic I was able to continue performing in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2020) in a masked outdoor production, then went onto do Everybody by Brandon Jacob-Jenkens (2021) back onstage, and lastly, Rumors by Neil Simon. Post graduation I have had the opportunity to work through Boston Casting as a background regular on season two of the HBO max original Julia which has been great exposure to the film industry. I have also had the opportunity to work on a  student film with Tufts University. Most recently I finished working on a Columbia University MFA Directing project focusing on The Dream, a rendition of A Midsummer Night's Dream, playing the role of Titania as well as a production of Remembering Morgan by Annie Brown, an original play produced through the Downtown Urban Arts Festival where I portrayed the role of Jo.

I also have interests in makeup and sewing, which has led me to pursue the art of drag! Though it was an art form which I hadn't been exposed to until later in my life, I quickly found a love for the glamor, comedy, and performance of the craft. Check out my instagram to see what Marilyn Bimbo is working on!
